Get ready to climb at the top of one of the most active volcano in Chile ! At the summit (2847m), you will enjoy a panoramic view of the different lakes and volcanoes of the region (Quetrupillán, Lanin, Llaima, Lonquimay, Sierra Nevada, Chohuenco, Osorno, Tolhuaca). Climbing the volcano is possible all year long, in winter and summer, escorted by professional guides. From June to December, it is possible to go down skiing or snowboarding (good level and physical conditions are required). This activity requires intermediate fitness, depending on the duration of the ascent which depends of the season (from 4 to 6 hours), on the weather conditions of the day and on the elevation gain (1050m / 1650m).

Our plus
 

       A Reliable Equipment :

  • Comfortable Italian mountain shoes Gronell limiting the risk of blisters formation.

  • Pants with lateral opening in order to wear it only if it is necessary, without taking off the shoes.

       Security above all :

  • 1 guide and 1 assistant for 4 persons with maximum 12 people.

  • We have been working with the same team of guides for 5 years. They have radio and are in constant communication with the agency and one with each other.

  • We pay for a detailed weather forecast, which permits to give you the best information about the chances to succeed the ascent, and avoiding to take any risk.

  • The weather checking in the morning is done with the boss and the guides.

The day before
 

      The day before the ascension, we ask you to come to the agency at the end of the day (between 6pm and 8pm) in order to :

  • Check the weather forecast.

  • Reserve or confirm your reservation by giving us your personal information, necessary for our insurance.

  • Try the equipment and be aware of the last necessary information.

  • If you have physical problems (asthma, cardiac deficiency, vertigos...), you must tell us before registering thus we would be able to evaluate the risks.

  • Make sure that you have all the equipment required for the ascent, and that you prepared enough food for the day.

Who is able to do the ascent ?
 
  • Ascent is allowed from 18 years old (with an authorization from the parents), until 65 years old (you will have to sign a responsability disclaim)

  • An intermediate physical fitness is required. The difficulty of the ascent depends on the seaon and the weather conditions.

  • This activity is not recommended to pregnant women and people with health problem.

BAD CONDITIONS 

We go to the base of the volcano to check the weather a second time.

We start the ascent. Middling conditions : (wind, smoke, clouds, rain, ice) : each one takes its own decision : climbing or going back to Pucón

 We cancel or report the ascent to the next day. You do not have charges.

 We cancel and come back to Pucon: you will only be charged the price of the transfer which is 5000 -10000$.

It’s possible to do the ascension all year long. Difficulty changes depending on the seasons and on the weather conditions.

Cancelation policies
If you decide to cancel the day before the activity:

-- Before 1pm: we give you back all your deposit.

-- Between 1pm--5pm: we give you back half of your deposit.

-- After 5pm: we have to keep all the deposit.

If we have to cancel because of the weather conditions: 

-- At the agency: we give you back all your deposit.

-- From the base: only transport cost (5 000$).

-- If you start hiking: no refund.
